Accuracy standards

Every factual claim on Spin & Sprocketis meant to be checkable. Specs are reported as the manufacturer publishes them, calculations are shown so the arithmetic is visible, and we do not round a claim up to make a pick look better. Where a figure is disputed or a maker publishes an optimistic number, we say so. Where a figure does not exist, we write "manufacturer does not publish this" rather than estimate. We do not fabricate ratings, review counts, or test results, and we make no claim to have bench-tested any unit — the full method is on our how we review page.

Sourcing rules

We build from primary sources and cite them:

• Specifications — power accuracy, resistance ceiling, simulated gradient, flywheel mass, weight, connectivity, and noise — are attributed to the manufacturer spec sheet, manual, or product page, linked where possible.
• Market and industry statistics carry an inline source and link to the original publisher of the figure.
• Aggregated owner feedback and third-party measurements are labeled as such and credited to whoever produced them — never presented as our own hands-on testing.
• Data-heavy pages carry a "Sources" note so you can trace each number back to where it came from.

Independence of picks

Spin & Sprocketis funded by affiliate commissions, and those commissions have no influence on what we recommend. Picks are determined by the published rubric — specs, math, and value — applied identically to every model. A product that pays a higher commission rate receives no advantage, a product that pays nothing is eligible to win, and the "skip this" verdict is written whenever it is the honest one. Correction policy

We will get things wrong — a spec changes, a firmware update shifts a number, a model is discontinued. When we learn of an error, we fix it promptly and update the page's modified date. Substantive corrections — anything that changes a pick, a price interpretation, or a headline spec — are noted on the page so readers can see what changed and when. If you spot something off, email info@spinandsprocket.com and we will look into it. Reader corrections are one of the best sources of accuracy we have.

Update cadence

Content is dated with a visible publish and last-updated date so you always know how fresh a page is. Flagship roundups and comparisons get a quarterly refresh— re-checked prices and availability, plus any newly shipped models. We also update on events: when a significant product launches or is discontinued, the affected pages are revised within days and re-dated. Prices are pulled from a live layer and are never hand-entered stale numbers; when no live price is available we show "Check price" instead.

Who is accountable

Spin & Sprocket is written and maintained by Stephen V., an enthusiast — not a credentialed test lab, and we do not pretend otherwise.
